DARTMOUTH, Mass. – December 18, 2025 After the holiday season winds down, Dartmouth residents have options for what to do with their real Christmas trees, artificial trees, and wreaths.

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR REAL CHRISTMAS TREE

Real Christmas trees are chipped and used as beneficial cover at the Crapo Hill Landfill. For either option below:

Curbside Collection (SMART Program Participants)
Real Christmas trees will be collected on your regular trash pickup day (by a separate truck) during the weeks of January 5 and January 12.

Drop-Off Option
Residents may drop off real Christmas trees in the brush area at the Department of Public Works/Water Pollution Control Facility, located at 759 Russells Mills Road.

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ARTIFICIAL CHRISTMAS TREE OR WREATH

For an artificial tree or wreath, reuse, share, or place in the trash.

HOLIDAY COLLECTION SCHEDULE

There will be no solid waste or recycling collection on Thursday, December 25, 2025, and Thursday, January 1, 2026. The Thursday route will be collected on Friday during those weeks.
